SSC CGL Exam Pattern Syllabus 2017: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct the CGL exam. CGL Tier-1 exam qualified candidates will be able to appear for the CGL Tier-2 exam and those candidates who will pass the Tier-2 exam will be eligible for Tier-3 exam. Candidates who are going to appear for “CGL Exam” must know the exam pattern, marking scheme and syllabus to perform well in the exam.

SSC CGL Selection Procedure 2017

Selection process includes 4 tiers as indicated below:

Tier-1: Written Examination (Objective Type) (200 Marks)

Tier-2: Written Examination (Objective Type) (each paper carry 200 marks)

Tier-3: Written Examination (Descriptive Type) (100 Marks)

Tier-4: Computer Test / Skill Test (wherever applicable)

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2017

Exam is objective type and will be conducted online.Question paper will be divided into 4 sections:

(1) General Intelligence & Reasoning,

(2) General Awareness/ General knowledge,

(3) Quantitative Aptitude and

(4) English Comprehension.


There are 100 questions for 200 marks and exam duration will be 75 minutes.

Negative Marking: There will be negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer in the Tier I exam.

SSC will issue the CGL 2017 Tier-1 exam admit card on its official regional websites. Candidates will not be allowed to enter in the examination hall without the valid admit card.

SSC CGL 2017 Answer Key

SSC will publish the answer key of CGL exam candidates can check their performances in the exam with the help of CGL answer key.
